Uji Banding Metode Kultur Darah Konvensional dengan Metode Kolorimetrik BacT Alert terhadap Deteksi Kuman Salmonella.
An invertigation on blood culture from medical patient who was diagnosed thyphoid fever clinically, using BacT/Alert colorimetric method used FAN aerobic BacT/Alert as a media, and conventional blood culture methode/Gal culture which was a mixing from Ox Bille Dessicated Broth and BHI has been carried out. From 40 blood culture which was investigated, 19 (47,5 %) was positive with BacT/Alert, 12 (30 %) was Salmonella, and 7 (17,5 %) was not Salmonella, with Gal culture 12 (30 %) was positive, 10 (25 %) was Salmonella, and 2 (5 %) was not Salmonella.
The average time for detected bacteria growth with BacT/Alert was 22,6 hours, and Gal culture was 30-48 hours. The average time which was need for Salmonella identification if it was isolated with BacT/Alert was 46,6 hours, and Gal culture was 69,6 hours.
The results of the investigation showed that the BacT/Alert has sensitivity value 100 %, specificity value 93,3 %, positive fortune value 83,3 % and negative fortune value 100 %.
From the results above, we know that the BacT/Alert colorimetric method was very good for detected microorganism growth, especially Salmonella bacteria, if was compared with Gal culture.
