Fundamentals of Nuclear Pharmacy
Fundamentals of Nuclear Pharmacy has been revised with information added covering new radio pharmaceutical innovations in imaging technology and clinical applications in the field. The basic format of the book remains the same as in previous editions, consisting of 16 chapters. Chapters 1, 2, 4, 6, 11 and 16 have no or only minor changes. Chapter 3 contains two new sections, namely "Digital Image" and "PET/CT and SPECT/CT". In Chap. 5, a couple of new generators have been added. Including a section on calculation of Sr and Sr breakthrough, a recent requirement of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Several obsolete radiopharmaceuticals have been taken out and a few ones have been added in Chap. 7, and Tables 8.1 to 8.3 have been updated to reflect tehse changes. A brief outline of USP Chapter <797> ha bee included in Chap. 9. Tbles 10.2 and 10.4 are updated with current absorbed doses. Chapter 12 contains a new section on "Exploratory IND" along with other minor changes. Also, the section on European Regulations Governing Radiopharmaceuticals has been revised in this chapter. Changes in Chap. 13 reflect those made in Chap. 7, with the inclusion of PET/CT or SPECT/CT imaging, where appropriate. The introduction on Molecular Imaging has been slightly revised, and a new section on nanoparticle Imaging has been added to Chap. 14. Finally, Chap. 16 includes the brief description of new treatment of liver cancer with Y-TheraSpheres and Y-SIR-Spheres, and treatment of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma with I-Bexxar.
