TheScience of Flavonoids
This book provides a comprehensive overview of the flavonoid field since 1990, when the last major volume on flavonoids was published, and covers the emerging areas in the field of flavonoid research and their applications. Chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, cellular and molecular biology are combined in each chapter to tackle what are perceived to be some of the most significant challenges currently being pursued in the area of the biology of favonoids. The book has 9 chapters. Chapter 1is the stereochemistry of flavonoids. Chapter 2 is isolation and identification of flavonoids. Chapter 3 is the biosynthesisi of flavonoids. Chapter 4 is the regulation of flavonoid biosynthesis. Chapter 5 is transport of flavonoids: from cytosolic synthesisi to vacuolar accumulation. Chapter 6 is flavonoid pigments as tools in molecular genetics. Chapter 7 is the evolution of flavonoids and their genes. Chapter 8 is flavonoids as nutraceuticals. Chapter 9 is flavonoids as signal molecules: targets of flavonoid action.
