Validity and reliability test of the clinical dental students knowledge, attitude and behavior questionnaire regarding pre-procedural mouth rinse in COVID-19 pandemic
Purpose: During the COVID-19 pandemic, dental students who were in clinical stage of their
study were susceptible to the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 while doing the dental
procedures. One of the way for infection control is by applying mouthwash to the patients
before dental procedure or pre-procedural mouth rinse (PPMR). To assess the compliance in
the implementation, it is necessary to measure the knowledge, attitudes and behavior of the
clinical dental students regarding PPMR. Article published by Imran et.al (2021) designed a
questionnaire to evaluate the PPMR application, cross-cultural adaptation and modification
were first steps to be applied in Indonesia and did validity and reliability tests. Methods: The
type of research was questionnaire development assisted by SPSS version 22.
Questionnaire items that had been cross-cultural adaptation were tested on 30 clinical dental
students at Padjadjaran University online by taking samples using purposive sampling
technique. Results: The data were analyzed with content validity, Pearson correlation and
Cronbach alpha. The results showed that some knowledge items had r-value >0.361 and
p0.361 and p0.6, attitude alpha values >0.361, and behavioral item values
