Description Of Image Quality Of Digital Lateral Cephalometric Radiograph At Rumah Sakit Gigi Mulut At University Of Padjadjaran
Introduction: A digital lateral cephalometric radiographs is a lateral x-ray of head taken with a cephalostat that demonstrates the bones and facial contours on a single film, used in the assessment of facial growth, dental and soft tissues. The purpose of this study is to explain the image quality of digital lateral cephalometric at Rumah Sakit Gigi Mulut, University Padjadjaran. Method: The method of this research was a descriptive study with secondary data collected by a cross-sectional technique from January until August 2018. There were 93 sample of radiographs based on inclusion criteria taken in the Radiology Installation of RSGM Unpad Bandung. Five common orientation points on the sefalometric radiographs were use in this study which is Sella, Nation, A-point, B-point and Gnathion and all of these orientation points are categorized into three image quality scale which is "diagnostically acceptable" and "diagnostically unacceptable" based on Health Protection Agency. Result: The results showed that the excellent category was the most common in the age group of late adolescent (17-25 years old) which is 84.29% radiographs. Gnathion was the most clearly identifiables with 100% radiographs was rated as excellent while the point-A was only 84.95% radiographs. In addition, 78 out of 93 radiographs received Grade 1. Overall, 83.87% radiographs were classified as excellent, 16.13% radiographs were diagnostically acceptable, while 0% radiograph were rated as diagnostically unacceptable. Conclusions: As a conclusion, this research found that the image quality of digital lateral cephalometric radiographs taken at the Radiology Installation of RSGM Unpad Bandung clearly shows that these targets were achieved the standard image quality recommended by Health Protection Agency.
